I intended to ride the train, but it just went nowhere I wanted to go, and most locals who work and live within the city, had never ridden it. It seems that its main purpose was to connect the long-distance commuters into the city. That being said, I don't know where in the city it was bringing them into. There wasn't a clear 'Central Station' type of place with high density stuff at all, like you might see in Europe or other places.

That being said, at least they have something!
The government is already working on expanded the metro.

It's a start.

Airport...St. George's Cathedral (a tourist attraction). Yep, it's a start.

I'd still like to see BOLE being connected though...it's nothing like Times Square NYC, but it's like skipping the Times Square area if you were to build the NY subway for the first time in 2018.

According to these two links, the trains for the Addis Abba metro were built by a Chinese company in China.
There are Chinese are everywhere in Africa, right now. They are building most of the infrastructure. The places I've been in Africa, it has not been unusual to see some dirt-poor Chinese out in the middle of nowhere, working on something.

That being said, more and more Chinese engineers as well. As a person living in the China sphere of the world, I'm also seeing more youtube videos of Chinese marrying Africans, and living in Africa or vice-versa.

Interesting times.
