Hello everyone, I've got a question about teachers. My wife and I are currently teachers in Texas but are thinking of moving to Alabama. Here, we have a teacher evaluation system in which the principals do "walkthroughs" and then fill out a form to let us know what to improve on (according to their non-humble opinion of course) and the students' TAKS test scores are the end all be all for teaching ability. Is the Alabama school system similar to this, what is the overall respect level for teachers in the schools, what kinds of standardized tests are there and how much pressure is put on teachers and kids to do well on them?

Thank you for any help and information you can offer.

I can't help you, but I just wanted to say that I'm from San Antonio and I currently live in Alabama.
