Hi everyone, I just moved to Phenix City and am having a difficult time finding a cable/internet provider? Is East Alabama Cable my only option? If so, are the horror stories I've heard about the company true? Thanks!!

Yea, I'm sorry to say that they are true. CTVEA is a horrible, corrupt company. Lousy service, slow speeds, hidden charges. AT&T DSL is your only other option that I have found, and I look constantly. They're far from perfect as well in speed: 6 down\768 up is equally as pathetic as CTVEA, but at least they know their jobs and their business. I left CTVEA several years back for DirecTV and AT&T. I've heard all the rumors of corruption between CTVEA and the local government as the reason why we have no other available choices, I'm not sure what is true and what is not, but I do believe if we were ever given the option of a Comcast, Uverse, or many others, there would be a mass exodus from CTVEA.
