Hopefully by the end of 2014,the Phenix City riverfront will have two new features. A hotel and the new Troy State University campus.

The Growth in Phenix is a good thing and with the aid of Columbus that area can be an emerging strong metro. Alabama is stocked with strong mid sized metros.

Well, it's still Phenix City. There has always been a huge historical divide between the two sides of the river, as far as perceptions go. I've had THREE nieces attend Columbus State University all on the downtown campus, and they never EVER crossed the bridges into Alabama. NEVER! And why not? They had no reason to.

That's true. However, now Columbus is helping P.C with their downtown redevelopments.

Just thinking about it,Phenix City and Alabama is a huge divide too. Georgia own the five bridges crossing over to Alabama and the river.
