Free the Hops will sponsor a beer tasting at the Downtown Trading Co. in Tuscaloosa at 5:00 pm on November 14th. Only legal beers will be tasted, but it will be a good opportunity to meet the folks in the organization and show your support. DTC is located at 617 Greensboro avenue in downtown Tuscaloosa (corner of 7th steet and Greensboro).

Monktoberfest was fantastic! A great success and a great time was had by all. I wish I could get down to Tuscaloosa on the 14th, but don't think I can make it on a Wednesday. I hope that goes well.

What happens if you as a parent serve a minor and his friends ages 17-19? My Son is leaving going into the Army and he wants a party with some of his friends with liquor but I tried to explain to him that I as a parent could get into trouble if I allowed the party....................What exactly are the rules?

Be ready to go to jail should someone report you, or worse, be ready to loose everthing should something happen to one of the kids who was drinking at your party!

The Drinking age is 21 PERIOD!

I did not think growlers were allowed to be sold in AL. I thought they were too big of a container.

I have never heard of Growlers so I can't tell you but you have to apply for a license with the city and be approved by the state IIRC. In our city the city commissioners approve the licenses and they are not cheap. It cost 15K. Draft beer isn't sold in many cities and there is also no Sunday sales in many places.

Does anyone know how much a liquor license costs in Alabama (serving in madison county - Huntsville), or have a rough estimate?

Can someone please answer this question? Can you host a party, charge admission and give away alcohol? I've attended several "All you can eat and drink" events and I'm trying to see if it's legal.

I think somebody did that somewhere in Alabama and was recently prosecuted for it.
