The Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska is responding to Levi Johnston's announcement that he is going to run for his seat, which will be vacant in 2012.
Mayor Verne E. Rupright tells ET, "Well, it is a little early to declare. Usually most wait until the year the seat is up. But since I am nearly old enough to be Levi's grandfather I think it would be wise for him to get a high school diploma and keep his clothes on. The voters like that!"

Mayor Of Wasilla, Alaska Reacts To Levi Johnston's Bid (http://www.etonline.com/news/2010/08/89961/ - broken link)

Wasilla -- home to America's two wackiest families. Bristol might just as well run for mayor of Anchorage. Sarah has plenty of kids to keep Alaskan politics in the headlines for yrs to come.

Like the bumper sticker says, "God help me get through Wasilla". That couldn't be any truer. He might as well run, and if he wins, he could hardly do any worst then "The Quitter" did in this so called town, then the state.

Yes, I live here, but believe me, I am always looking to get out to somewhere else in Ak. Every where I've been has been nicer then Wasilly land.

Joe McGinniss must be having the time of his life there. Have you seen him out & about anywhere?

Is there something wrong with all these people and the media giving this LOSER any publicity???

He is a first class LOSER that is looking for a free ride.
His mother is in jail. He is in CA, his poor son is in Alaska...

What is wrong with this picture.

Levi = Loser

I doubt he would get enough votes to count on his hands and feet. Most of the people that live there know him and his family.

Pretty sad that he thinks he even has a chance. Press is setting him up for a massive fall.

Won't bother him one bit if he loses, just like quitting never phased Sarah. They're all in this game for the money. The more the better. They only thing Levi cares about is whether or not his planned Reality Show does well. Same with Sarah.

Alaska is their Cash Cow.
