Okay, I really must confess...I once took 24 shots of my eyeball years ago and didn't know until I got the film back! Now that your done laughing, this discussion was quite interesting.

Yes I agree; but interesting is not the appropriate word.

The OP wanted a simple answer to a simple question.

ANS: do what Kodak says to do: adjust the shadows to look grey.

End of discussion.

When you can stick your hand or finger into a photograph, and that real flesh matches the flesh in the photograph- THEN; you have a color corrected print!!

Kodak makes it plain,easy & simple to understand!! They are the oldest & they are the best in the world!!

You are right about this.

I will add that this is very easy to accomplish in CS5 Camera Raw. In fact, Camera Raw (part of CS5) now can be set to adjust not only RAW images, but TIFF and JPEG as well. I was not very familiar with PhotoShop CS (just Elements) until a few months ago. Then upgraded to CS5 and have been amazed of the things one can accomplish with it. Some CS5 books even include swatch cards one can use for WB correction.

It doesn't matter which file format you are adjusting for, or which method you use. The only thing that is important is to get the shadows grey. then everything else falls into place perfectly.
