Think of the single family residence land owners around Anchorage, Fairbanks and so fourth. National and State park lands. Oil fields lands and native lands. Who owns the other vast lands great interior Alaska? Property land gets handed down from one generation to the next right? What do you think the price tag of whole Alaska at it's current state of economic growth? Perma Frost and Tundra kind of made things not good for economic growth. Think new city or towns can spring up in the great interior? Only two major cities Anchoarge, Fairbanks.

80% of it is owned by the Federal Government. Most of that is locked up as military areas, National Parks, National Forests, Wildlife Refuges, or Wilderness areas.

At least the land next to the highways are not all fenced in. Like the ranches down in lower 48 states. Why is this?
