I've been wanting to move to Alaska for the longest time! I never thought #1 that I would ever make it, and #2 that I would move to an island. I always imagined going to Juneau, Fairbanks, Anchorage, but wound up taking a chance on Sand Point.

Be prepared for a huge culture shock. It might also be wise if you had a contingency plan in case the experience is not what you were expecting.

Unless you have a job already in Sand Point, you may just want to visit first. People are Friendly, but it is expensive to live there. Just dropping in and expecting to get a job and living spaces is great, but not very realistic. I thought you had that all done.

Well I am in the process there for their police department, and am having assistance from city hall finding a place to live, etc etc.
