Hello,

Looks like we will be moving to Soldotna area (though not 100% sure I want to live in Soldotna proper) around December. Does anyone have a fantastic realtor they can recommend?

Did AST already tell you where your husbands first assignment will be?

That is great if they did. I thought they would have held off until the end of the academy.

Dakster,

I guess Soldotna is severely undermanned, so he was told if he chooses Soldotna then he will get it. We had already wanted Soldotna, so it worked out for us.

You're actually given your assignment "for real" around the 2nd-3rd week of class according to the interviewers. Of course, I'm sure like anything, it is subject to change based on the needs of the department.

I would say most things are subject to change, but it is nice to know that you should be able to get what you wanted.

Thanks for the insight.

Welcome to the Penn. I didn't go through a realtor so I can't help you. I lucked out and "found" my land, outside Kasilof, and worked it all out with the owner. He does land sales and I worked as a Paralegal years ago. Once said I've done about everything and I have, lol Happy house hunting.

"Trustworthy" and "Realtor" are mutually exclusive.

Well I read all the Realtor postings for an idea of the property prices... google search "REal Estate in Kenai, Alaska". Don't know anyone that sells Real Estate.. so just research, search and you will find a lot of leads that may lead to other leads... Good Luck

I just read something rather interesting. Only Alaska and South Dakota require a realtor to disclose whether or not a murder has taken place within the past 12 months in any house they are selling.

So if you buy a house in any other state and later find out a family was murdered in your new home, you are SOL.
