Default Ok, where are all the insurance companies in Alaska

Well, I just searched for a Nationwide agent in Juneau since that is who we have our insurance through and low and behold no agents that I can find.. I emailed our current agent to see if Nationwide is really nationwide. It appears that it is not.

Anyway, who do you use for your homeowners and auto insurance in Juneau?

Thanks
Doug

I think the two biggies are State Farm Insurance with several agents in town and Shattuck and Grummett an independent insurance agency representing several insurance companies. Another one is Budget Insurance, another independent.

I've been hit by a couple of cars insured by State Farm and their service was very good in getting my car repaired. I personally have Allstate through S&G and have not had any problems. We went with S&G because they sold the same insurance as our current when we moved here. As to cost, I know some who went with the online companies, but your best bet is to shop and compare.
