You are so rght - and I think you have the .....to deal with this....is only winter where we are...up north could be nasty and I am a cold-baby and hibernated in the -48, and do the same here....

I'll work toward next summer for a backpack tour. I want to see things at their most swampy, buggy, shoulder-to-shoulder-fishing worst. That is unless I'm wrong about when it's worst... Kind of a 2 yr plan in the works here (assuming financial markets bounce instead of colapse). As for college, I've been out a while (could finish... but why)... just a workin' stiff for the past few years.

Depending on your point of view...Alaska is at its worst about January 31 or so.

I'm not so worried about cold... I've been cold before. You wear more clothes or put more wood on the stove. It lasts quite a while... I may not stay a lifetime but I'm sure I've got a couple winters in me
