Default Teaching in Alaska

Hello all! Next fall I should be finished with school and, hopefully, have completed my student teaching as well. I have been looking into an Alaska teaching credential and I think I should be able to accommodate taking the tests while in my last semester/student teaching.
My family is in Fairbanks, which is nice, but I am not sure I want to move there. I like Kodiak, but I don't think I am an islander. I love The Kenai Peninsula as well as The SE. Anchorage, I imagine, would be my best bet for finding a job, the websites I have visited so far seem to confirm that. I don't really want to live in the city though, but maybe it's a place to start.

-Any teachers on this board? If so, any advice?

-Is Alaska like the lower 48 in that there is always a need for teachers?

-Anything else that might be good to consider?

Thanks, Matt
