Your government at work, where the quality of the air is more important than human lives. The EPA pricks use local law enforcement because they know they would not survive the experience if they had to enforce this nonsense themselves.

I would understand if this were in Cali where the epa isnt enough with our 42 billion dollar budget deficit over the bext 2 years we have our own EPA to help them in the AQMD. Thats why we say ..... How many Californians does it take to change a light bulb? (answer) 6 one to change the bulb and 5 to do the enviromental impact study!.. ok so more sad then funny
Amazing. If the air is dead or not moving and lots of folks burning wood are causing a TEMPORARY, unhealthy air quality standard for a few hours, why not just issue a warning? It is only going to impact those with lung problems. If they remain indoors they would be fine and if they need to go out, they can wear a p-100 dust mask, or other quality mask that would filter 100% of any particles in the air. But oh no, that might make too much sense. Rather, we must tell everyone on Christmas eve, no fireplaces.
Well, at least we can burn pellet stoves for heat. I can understand it if an inversion lasted over a week. As it stands, cars put out more pollution.
Another thing the EPA did was to shut down the garbage incinerator years ago, because it wouldn't meet new pollution requirements. Now the smell in the area has to be worse than the burning.
