Good to have you back, Met. The forum was running really low on the adult count.

Daylight savings time is pretty much meaningless up here in the summer anyway. With 20+ hours of daylight, calling it an extra hour one way or the other makes no difference. The sun is up before I am, and sets after I go to bed. Alaska should opt out of this silliness just like Hawaii and Arizona.
I totally agree, I was shocked when we moved up here, I would think that with the amount of daylight in the summer they wouldn't do it. AND in the winter it already gets dark very early for some time so what is the sense in falling back?

I agree. I love that I don't have to jump into this nonsense. I lived in Hawaii before this, so it means only one thing to me. All of a sudden I'm on California time and the East coast is 3 hours ahead of me instead of 2. Oh well!

Default 1991 stay on Kodiak/question;

......Hey Shyeeyore................
I was just hopping around ths AK forum and noticed your location is Kodiak.

Got a question: In mid-November 1991 I stayed at a B&B (that's goin' be my question) for one night, waiting for the weather to clear so I could fly back to Anchorage on one of those "dash-8"s. I think it was Wein Air?? We had just come around the north end of the island (by boat) from Kashuiak Bay. Weather was (and had been lousy): wind, sleet, rain and snow. But this "old fogey" was "happy as a clam".............had been glassin' (across the bay) for 5 days; only saw 2 bears; and after a 5 hour stalk (climb up the mountain--thank God for H.D. Neopreem Gloves, that Devil's Club is terrible!!) sea level to about 1300'.......I finally got my Brownie at 40 yards. Thrill of a life-time for a, then 60 yr old, Montana boy. (I had put my name on a "Cancelled Hunt List " four years earlier. My name finally came to the top and at 1/2 price!! I couldn't say no!

OK, My Question: I seem to remember going on a street called Mission to get to it, and the owners names were Betty and Bill (I think) , or something like that. Anyway, the food was great, the folks were great and I was wondering if that B&B was still around. If I can swing it, I'd like to do one last trip to AK this coming summer. Was thinking of driving to Seattle; fly to Kodiak; stay about a week; do some fishin' and sight-seeing around the area (never had the time to 'look around' in '91).

Maybe you could check it out and let me know if that B&B is still around.

Thanks.
