I'm planning on moving to the Capital Region, not sure of my final location yet, but I'm a full time remote employee that relies on stable internet for work. I know FIOS is available in some areas, but I'm interested in hearing people's experiences with Time Warner Cable since that is available in more areas. I'm currently partial to the Glens Falls/Queensbury area, so if you are from there I'd love to hear from you, but I'm also interested in other areas too. Basically, do you lose connection frequently or often run into slow or unusable speeds....or is it stable most of the time?
I'd really appreciate your input as I'm not sure where else to get this kind of information. Thanks!
TWC is moving eastward across the upstate (beginning in WNY) with an upgrade of their standard RoadRunner service from 15/1 to 50/15, and their premium service to 300MB download speeds. It's in the early stages and I can't tell you when it'll be in the Capital District. I'm in the Rochester area and the tech told me to look for big changes this year from TWC.
I don't think you can go wrong with Time Warner except like everything else they are fond of Price hikes and you constantly have to Dicker with them. It is fairly widely available at lest as far as Saratoga Springs unless you choose a more remotely located property. I am not quite sure on how things are up north, but I would guess Glens Falls would be a good spot?
