I am in need of a top-notch vascular surgeon for leg vein surgery...I was scheduled for surgery 2 months prior to moving to the Albany area but was "bumped" from the surgery schedule and then it became too close to moving time to do the surgery at all. Huge bummer !!!!!
And as air travel is "banned" for a minimum of 30 days after vascular surgery (due to potential for blood clots), I cannot return there for the surgery, unless I can find a place to hang out for 30 days!

I know, in general terms, Albany Medical Center and ST. Pete's and Good Samaritan, but was hoping for a some specific recommendations.

I do not mind traveling a distance, if needed. May need to go to NYC? But again, I do not know anyone there, either...

I also posted a request for suggestions for a good restorative / cosmetic dentist...if there is any dentist you can recommend , please do so as well.

Finding good health / dental care providers, as well as other professional services (Tax help, for instance!) has been daunting. Definately one of the hardest tasks post-move.

Again, much thanks to those helpful City Data posters and repliers out there! Maybe someday I will have enough knowledge of the area to help someone else...right now I'm still feeling a bit lost....

Default Medical in NJ

Although we live in Saratoga, we have maintained our medical doctors in NJ.
I highly recommend the Summit Medical Group in Berkeley Heights, NJ. The vascular surgeon is Richard Nitzberg.

They are located approximately 2 hours from Albany. The entire Summit group is fantastic. We have had to deal with many medical problems, including cancer and the care and service you receive is beyond reproach.

The technician in the lab at SMG told me they have patients that travel from Europe as they can have all medical services done at one location in one day.
Summit Medical Group - New Jersey's Best Physicians and Medical Services - Live Well. Stay Well.

Additionally we travel to NJ for dental services, as I have not found a dentist to compare with in NY. Recommend: Fairfield Dental Group, Fairfield, NJ.
You can PM me if you have further questions.

Hi, I am an RN and I worked at Albany Med for 15 yrs. I can highly recommend Dr Shah and his staff. They come highly regarded in the medical community and Dr Shah himself, is well known across the country. Dr Chang, Darling, Kreienberg, Paty & Roddy, all... I have worked with and cared for their patients. You cannot get better Vascular surgeons anywhere. The info is; The Vascular Group PLLC 43 New Scotland Avenue MC 157 Physicians Pavillon 3rd fl Albany, NY 12208. 518-262-5640 There are several RNs that work for the practice and you will meet them if you decide to go for an appt. Albany Medical Center also has a website and you can get info there. Also, the Vascular docs have their own website as well with profiles and other helpful information. Hope I have been a help to you. Good Luck ! Lisa (aka Ladeebug)
