Read about El Sabor de Juárez, on Gibson across from Kirtland Elementary School, on the Internet and decided to have Sunday breakfast there.

Call this place a greasy spoon; call it a hole in the wall. But, above all, call it authentic restaurant that serves up delicious grub. Its menudo and huevos rancheros are muy ricosos. Next time, I'll try lunch there.

Has anyone else eaten here?

What about standard American Comfort Food. Not fast food. Is Cracker Barrel it?

Try The Range. In Bernalillo. I hear great things about Standard Diner as well as Grandma's K&I Diner. Route 66 is great American fare too.

You really need to go to a chain?

We have been to Cracker Barrel four times in the last eleven years in New Mexico.... They are a great place, etc, but they are not our favorite. If I gotta go chain, Fuddruckers comes to mind. Village Inn (Southwestern flavor available), Denny's, Chili's, Johnny Rocket or Applebee's.

For a local place, A few have mentioned 66 diner, I agree. 66 DINER

Best Sopapillas I've had in NM are up north at Rancho De Chimayo, but it's a heck of a drive.

a) Who has the best sopapillas locally?

b) Is there anywhere I can get a basket to go at 3am?

(Yes, yours, your mother's, or your grandmother's are the best. Unless you plan on inviting me over, that doesn' t help...)

Finally, after searching years, I've discovered a good Chinese restaurant: Tao Chinese Bistro at 3301 Southern Blvd. in Rio Rancho. It's located almost next door to the Black Olive restaurant.

We had walnut prawns and kung pao chicken. They were both delicious.

In a month, this place will have its liquor license. Has anyone else eaten here?

The best sopapillas in Burque are at Padilla's. And no, you cannot get them at 3:00am. Just order some extras and put them in the fridge for that late night snack.
