A conviction for each of the offenses charged in the complaint carries a maximum penalty of six months in prison, a $5,000 fine or both (if found guilty on all counts that's a measely 2.5 yrs in jail and $25K each). Sad.

And that's if they get the maximum penalty, which is unlikely. IMO, the penalties for starting a wildfire are far too lenient.
