Absolute Peppar. I assumed from the red and black logo on the bottle it would be based on red and/or black peppers. Wrong. It tastes like green peppers that had some black pepper thrown on top. I guess it might be okay in a Bloody Mary, but I wanted spicy like jalapeno martinis.

I won't say the name of the scotch, since to do so would be blasphemy, but it one of the pricier and strong single malts that has a following for having a very strong peaty component. The problem is that the taste (outside of the alcohol) was a dead ringer for the taste of a coal tar shampoo I used to use to control dandruff.
Generally speaking I like my spirits pure. I can't think of an example I like of a Spirit 'x' that's aged in a barrel of Spirit 'y.' Or something like the rye you linked to.
What bottles have you bought that you want a refund on?
1) I recently received a bottle of this - Basil Hayden's Caribbean Rye - as a gift. It's not bad, per se, but I don't care for it all that much. I prefer the spice of a rye, whereas that is overridden by the sweetness of the rum in this case, as one might expect. I would never have paid the $56 myself for it.
2) This thread needs a proper title. The brand/variety, or rye + rum, or at least something like 'what purchased did you come to regret?' should be in the title. That's the subject of this thread. It's not about you, which is what the title you've chosen is about.
