I've been saying this for a long time, to me it's pure common sense. But there is information out there with more stats and facts, so to speak, if one wants to believe. I do. I have not used Ice in many moons. All my water drinking is room temperature.

My major reason for NOT is Digestion and slow bowels.

Moderator cut: just state your idea. No need for derogatory words.

There is absolutely NO "danger" to drinking cold water and actually more benefits...

A review of several studies revealed that people drink about 50 percent more cold or cool water compared to warm water when they exercise -- and as a result are less dehydrated. Other studies show that people who exercise in heat and humidity have a slower and lower rise in core body temperature when they drink cold rather than lukewarm water. Whether running, cycling or lifting weights, it appears cold-water drinkers are able to exercise longer without feeling exhausted.

BD: We just agree to disagree. I'll go along with the info I've posted and my beliefs for many years on cold water and digestive system for sure.

And I can recall over years of drinking cold liquids of getting the "brain freeze" pain.

I have two books on liver health and they both agree with you Jamin. They say even drink your tea at room temperature. And yes, they also mention it aiding digestion.

T.D. I just looked at my first liver book I bought in about 1996 and the info is still good today and could be in here is where I first read about the temperature of the water we drink. I never drink restaurant water when I'm out and if I did, I say hold the ice, but I take my own small water bottle. First learned about Milk Thistle in this book. Thanks. j

You also shouldn't give cold water to plants. It actually makes them shrivel up some. Humans should drink beverages at room temperature to match their body temp. Cold water isn't good for blood circulation.

I'm pretty sure I have enough energy to warm the cold water AND digest my food.

If one thought it wise to avoid cold water for those reasons, then they wouldn't eat cold food. Food requires much more digestive activity.

Then you wouldn't have your ice cream Jam.

Mikala, I'm talking about cold water here, not ice cream.
