Ohh this one is a classic.....some more of the quirky things you see here...
Anyone who's been to Argentina, or lived here.....you know about how bad the driving is here.....anything goes!
I've seen:

1.) Driving at night without headlights even on freeways
2.) Frequent driving through red-lights ( at night there is a good reason for that though )
3.) Cars without the lid to the trunk or the hood of the car with the engine completely exposed.
4.) Parking on sidewalks and motorcycles driving on sidewalks to avoid red-lights.
5.) Children frequently in the front seat ( like this photo ) or climbing all over the front, and back seats, even hanging out the windows in some cases. I've even seen multiple, very YOUNG children without helmets on motorcycles and mopeds.
6.) Parallel parking where they'll squeeze the car into the tiniest spots, bumping into the car in front and back quite frequently.
7.) Agressive passing..
8.) I've seen 4 different accidents that involved a fight with the two drivers duking it out in the middle of the intersection, with, the cops there. Accident here between men frequently end in an exchange of blows.
9.) Obsession with honking the horn, they use horns here quite a bit ( good reason for this as well

Check out this photo. This joker was driving down Ruta 3 with an infant on his lap while he was holding the wheel....I've seen this several times here in Argentina.

Click here to see the cell phone video of the car....just scroll down to the bottom and watch the video:

The US Embassy just emailed me this:

United States Embassy Buenos Aires, Argentina

Security Message for U.S. Citizens: General Security Awareness

September 29, 2014

The U.S. Embassy wishes to inform U.S. citizens living and traveling in Argentina that in recent months, U.S. citizens have reported increases in numbers of crimes to the embassy. Crimes reported include: petty crime, taxi scams (especially at international airports), mugging, snatch-and-grab robbery involving motorcycles and bicycles, and also more serious crimes such as express kidnapping, home invasion, carjacking, assault, and sexual assault using date rape drugs. We recommend that U.S. citizens traveling and living in Argentina always be aware of their surroundings, maintain a high level of vigilance, and take appropriate steps to enhance their personal security. Please consult reliable sources for information on transportation, lodging, and the general security of areas you are visiting.

U.S. citizens should avoid areas of demonstrations and exercise caution in the vicinity of any large gatherings or protests. The majority of crimes reported to the Embassy occur in the major metropolitan areas but U.S. citizens should use an equal level of caution outside large population centers. While crimes happen at all times of day and night, they are significantly more frequent after dark.

The Embassy does not have evidence that victims have been targeted because of their U.S. citizenship. If you are the victim of a crime, please report it immediately to the police and inform American Citizen Services at the U.S. Embassy.
