They know now that they come from a great ancestry. They are discarding the bias and prejudiced European historical view that was taught in the past.
They know now that most Europeans came here because they really couldn't make it in their own country. Most were illiterate, criminals, violent, racist, poor and hungry.
With respect to just food, did you know that the basic food staple in the middle ages for most English common people during the winters were, terrible barley beer
You're judging people living many centuries ago with the morals of today. Couldnt make it in their own country? What does that got to do with anything? All societies at the time were strictly authoritarian with a tiny elite that ruled with an iron fist. You're trying to portray poor people of the day as masters of their own destiny. Its an absurd logic you're using.

Most of those Europeans societies (specially the Protestant ones) came with some very strange beliefs. Such as that as burning and drowning witches. Early American literature shows us that those settlers viewed the original people here as beasts and savages. " A good Indian is dead Indian"
Most of the founders here viewed the Indians as a problem that had to be eradicated. They provided the European newcomers with guns and weapons. Most of these new arrivals were squatters, many of them criminals and most of them poor and ignorant and on top of that racist.

This is about hispanics. Very few protestants moved to Latin America. 99% of the world population at the time were "poor and ignorant" and people certainly viewed the enemy tribes as beasts and savages in areas all over the world. This was a time of short brutal lives and a constant battle to survive. To be portrayed as soft, tolerant and weak could mean getting eradicated. If a family or tribe was almost wiped out, it was considered shameful and other members of the family would downplay it, not highlight it. Groups would highlight conquests and victories, not defeats and being victims of brutality. Its a totally different mentality than today.

Yes, take a wild guess of who Hispanics are? Since it appears that you are not aware, Hispanics are Mestizos for the most part a mixture of American Indian (North, Central or South American) mixed with for the most part with the Spanish. Hence, Hispanic.
I don't hate calling myself Cuban because that my country of origin.
But I do hate the whole Hispanic/Latino label. I try never to call myself Hispanic because I know it means that you must be someone with a certain degree of native american heritage.
I have learned to hate such a label because it doesn't represent my heritage.

Hispanic is anyone with a background from Latin America. You are the one who try to mock protestants coming to the US from Europe as poor people of lesser value than whatever you define yourself as. Open a new thread about that if it makes you feel better.

You've very few mestizos in the Caribbean (the Spanish Caribbean is full of Black and mixed race people), Southern South America is mostly white, while Northern South America has a heavy Black minority and many people are a mixture of three races (Black, White, and Native). Of course Latin American nations have many non Hispanic European immigrants, Asians, and Arab immigrants.
In short, what you said is a massive stereotype and overgeneralization and is highly inaccurate for much of Latin America.
