Ft Richardson
My best friend is coming out next month to welcome her husband back from Iraq. What hotels are near the base? How far is it from the airport to the base area? Is it easy to navigate - or confusing?

The entrance to Fort Richardson is inbetween Anchorage and Eagle River. So you could pick a hotel in either location and only be 10 minutes away.
Anchorage has quite a few hotels to choose from, Eagle River has fewer choices. Below are a couple nice hotels located in downtown Anchorage, and one nice motel located in Eagle River. Captain Cook Hotel 939 W 5th Ave Anchorage, AK 99501 (907) 276-6000 Sheraton Hotel 401 East 6th Ave Anchorage, AK (907) 276-8700 Eagle River Motel 11111 Old Eagle River Rd Eagle River, AK 99577 (907) 694-5000 Both the Captain Cook and Sheraton hotels are approximately 7 miles (about 15 minutes) from the Ted Steven's International Airport The main entrance to Fort Richardson is approximately 8 miles from downtown Anchorage and roughly 6 miles from Eagle River Directions from Anchorage Directions from Eagle River
