While driving back home to Colorado after attending my daughter's wedding in Nevada my car decided to throw a temper tantrum. I called various garages and couldn't find a mechanic certified to work on an Alfa Romero. In the mean time a very nice State Trooper showed up and said they would have the car towed for me so that my daughter and I could grab the next Greyhound Bus home and beat the impending snow storm due in our area.

Anyway, I get home and after a couple of days I start trying to locate my car. So far, no luck.

Where is the best place to call? I want to bring her home, but I need to find her first.

Thanks in advance!

When you say "trooper," did you speak to an Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) officer? Did you receive any paperwork before your car was towed? Have you called the DPS?

Yes, my bad. He was DPS. Here, they're State Troopers.
No, I didn't get any paperwork at the time. In retrospect it was stupid of me not to ask but my daughter and I had only minutes to get to the bus station. I have never had a car break down and leave me stranded in another state before and I didn't know WHAT to expect.

Yikes! I can't imagine surrendering my vehicle without receiving some kind of paperwork in exchange! I'd call the DPS and give them the date, time, and details. They should be able to direct you to where your car's being stored. Just a thought, but you're probably also incurring a daily storage fee.

Most state patrol dispatch offices keep records of any cars they have removed from the highways. Give them a call.
Here is their contacts page link~

By any chance, Pamela . . . did you get the name of the Tow Truck Company?

If not, I bet the DPS Officer or DPS Dispatcher will have that information.

I bet the car is scrapped and down in Mexico by now. Why would you let someone take your car and not get any of the necessary info to get it back?
