We may be relocating to the Phoenix area, and am wondering if we only have this Sunday to look, what would be the nicest areas. I have heard North Scottsdale. I will probably be working in Phoenix, and am looking to buy a new or newer house(4000+ sq ft) for $799000-$999,999. We like custom style(non cookie cutter)homes, preferably in a golf or country club, and with some nice landscaping. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Craig

I would target North Scottsdale. Other developments in that price range with golf that are worth a look include Ocotillo in Chandler, Vistancia in Peoria, Verrado near Buckeye and Estrella in Goodyear. There are several others. One day is not much time to make a decision.

North Scottsdale is nice, however even in that price range many will still have a cookie cutter style. To get more of a custom in N. Scottsdale you would have to go up in price, over 1 mill. In other areas (and there are MANY) you could find more customs for your range.

Another vote for North Scottsdale. Paradise Valley is a bit more expensive, but you can find homes there within that price range. Ive got family up in Saguaro Highlands, which is not a golf community, but is right near some courses. The neighborhood is gated and very quiet too.

Default not only 1 day....

We are scouting out this Sunday, and don't want to waste any time....I am looking for a gameplan as to a few areas or communities I can find.....
Craig
P.S. It does not have to be N. Scottsdale, that was only 1 thing I heard.

You won't find much of anything less than a million in PV, so I wouldn't look there.

You could try North Glendale, north of Happy Valley Rd, west of say 43rd ave. There quite a few nice, large customs in there. I think several are for sale. it's a great area. You can also go more west and south of there and see what's around.

There are many custom homes in the outskirts of subdivisions. I find them all the time just hidden.

Paradise Valley will cost you about $1-1.2M for a tear down... so forget that.

I'm really thinking Fountain Hills for you, but you may also want to consider some of the homes along Shea Blvd. in North Scottsdale on your way out to Fountain Hills.

The Rio Verde Foothills area has a lot of customs for right around your price range, but it is an equestrian area w/many dirt roads and not much in the way of golf course homes. Troon is right there though, so you can golf anytime you want with only a 5 minute drive from your home.

Hope that helps you make the most of your one day trip.
