The article says that the park is still lacking a theme, anyone have any recommendations for a park theme?

County OK's Williams theme park district
The city of Williams has cleared the last legal hurdle to begin raising funds for theme park elements that the community has had on its wish list for more than a decade.

A fresh start?

Now, those developers are out of the picture, said Brandon Buchanan, Williams city manager. The new setup for the special district puts more control in the hands of a district board, which will own the land and negotiate with developers on various projects, he said. The five-member board has representatives from the city of Williams, the city of Phoenix and the state. The district would have the power to issue up to $1 billion in bonds to finance the project, would retain ownership of the project and would have the ability to impose a user tax of up to 9 percent on sales and income within the district to pay back that bond.

Legislation governing the theme park district has morphed over the years as well. Coconino County now has no involvement in the district and it was clarified that bonds issued by the district are obligations of the district itself and not part of the county’s debt.

Still undecided

Though the theme park has been years in the making, officials with the City of Williams officials are still vague on many of the details about the proposed project. Cost estimates, for example, range from $175 million to $500 million, based on the city's initial conversations with interested developers.

Absolutely! There is a great little 1950's/1960's rock & roll-ish coffee/hamburger/soda place in the middle of Williams, and a theme park as a tribute to rock & roll would be even more excellent!

They could have a Mt Rockmore, rides, museums and other attractions which would memorialize the rock & roll "fathers & mothers" (e.g. Elvis, Fats Domino, Tina Turner, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Everly Brothers, Connie Francis, Chuck Berry, Ricky Nelson, Aretha Franklin, girl groups... & so many others) and their music!

There was a rock & roll theme park originally planned for somewhere near Casa Grande/Eloy area which never materialized - so why not in Williams? There are those who would question Arizona and rock & roll in the same breath, but how many other theme parks are doing this?

So I am curious why you would think a Theme park in Williams would bring growth to Prescott?

Prescott area not specifically Prescott and no I am unsure it will bring growth this far away which is why the question was framed as a question.

A Williams theme park would affect all of Arizona, and more specifically the immediate small and medium-size towns such as Ash Fork, Parks, Grand Canyon, Kingman, Seligman, Flagstaff, Paulden, Chino Valley, and of course, Prescott & Prescott Valley.

Absolutely, and perhaps even more themes within the original Theme Park, because all ideas should be introduced and researched for their possibilities.

Remember I mentioned the little 50's/60's rock & roll cafe in Williams? Its name is Cruisers Route 66 Cafe! This little diner has been there for a long time and its rock & roll theme has been embraced by the people of Northern Arizona, and beyond.

Route 66 history runs throughout that entire road between Chicago and Los Angeles!

Water will still be the biggest issue IMO.

Williams and Ashfork both have water but the problem is it is deep and expensive to get to.

In my initial post I shared 4 Theme park news links and one references that 2 new wells are planned for Williams with one already under construction, also they made reference in one of the articles that they will make the developer of the Theme Park be responsible for providing water which could mean additional wells and/or water pipelines from other areas.

On a side note I believe the land in the Williams and Ashfork area will get a big lift in value from the real estate speculators considering that this will be the first major Theme park in the state.
