Looking to buy a Condo or Townhouse in Az. My wife's health dictates that we get out of the North East winters. We have been staying in Tucson for the last ten years in a three room motel. I just don't know what to look for in buying them. What section of any of the cities or restrictions we should be asking about. Apache Junction was nice as was Cottonwood. Tried one realtor and ended with another and him getting into an argument. Sorry to sound so stupid, but I don't want to get into something that I'll regret latter. Thanks for any help.

Gary

many, many choices.....do you need to be in an exceptionally warm spot because of her health?....budget, square footage concerns?.....

yes, it can get touchy with realtors if you get too many (more than one??!!) involved trying to help you.....

Do you need a job? Or are you retired? Sounds like you may be.
Lots of smaller and warmer communities in AZ but jobs are tough in rural AZ.
Think about what you need.
AZ is not just Tucson and Phoenix.

Default Condo

I guess what I'm most concerned about is buying into the wrong neighborhoods with a budget of around $150.000. My wife and me only need around 12 to 1400 square feet. Tucson is nice, but we've been to Cottonwood, Apache Junction and like them all. Sorry if I'm being so vague, but we are over our heads when buying a second home or condo.

I think Tucson for that price range will be too low to get something in a safe enough neighborhood. I think you're better off looking at Apache Junction or Cottonwood, or maybe even if you are of age, Sun City will be very safe and in your price range.
