Hey.. Thank you all for the needed info!
My wife and I like the prospects of Kingman..
seems to be cooler temps than Bullhead, and looks
a bit greener with a bit more vegatation as well. How
is the gangbanging activity there in Kingman? Has it
gone out-of-hand/control? I don't see why they just
don't dig a huge hole... (you get the picture) LOL!
Does Kingman have a drive-in movie theatre? What about
smog-checks for vehicles? I was just asking because of
my old motorcycle.. I was hoping to take it with us.
Is there businesses on the Hualapai Mtn road area? We like
the Hualapai Foothill Estates area.. But from what I have seen..
the newer shopping area is N. Stockton Hill road? Thanks!

Well as for gangbangers every city has to have some and Kingman is no exception. If Kingman had more activites places to hang out it might make life even better. Currently Kingman has no sit down or drive in theater. Sit down coming soon?
No emissons test for us.
Life is green currently that equates to cash season for the wildland fire folks. Its going to dry out and be fire food soon.
We have commercial from Northern on out past Eastern a few strays on the ends.

Glad we're helping. There's no visible sign of any gang-bangers anywhere in town that I've seen. Also, the local newspapers have never mentioned them either, and they're generally pretty good about reporting all the local arrests. So if they do exist, they're keeping a low profile. On the other hand, the owner of the local gun store claims that there's an MS13 presence in town. Although, he may just be trying to sell more guns, I don't know.

No drive-in movie theater. In fact, no movies at all right now. The local theater's lease recently expired, and they're building a big new 10 screen complex. But that probably won't be done for a year.

Shopping-wise, there are a couple of mini-markets and restaurants on Hualapai, but most of your shopping is on Stockton Hill. The "old Safeway" is before the I40 interchange, so that's the most accessible. There's also shopping on Andy Devine, near the I40 interchange (Kmart, Basha's groceries, etc, some other strip mall stores.)

Smog checks, I don't think we have them here. We registered three vehicles from out of state (including a motorcycle), and it never came up.

Edit: Whoops, Rambush slipped one in while I was typing. Sounds like you've seen gang bangers then?

Hi.. Would you guys recommend any part, east or west ends of
Golden Valley? We have a lot of dumpy places out there, but have
also seen some really nice places on the west-end. What's your take
on Golden Valley area? Thanks!

There were some opinions expressed on Golden Valley in this thread.

http://www.city-data.com/forum/arizo...-bankrupt.html

Some people like the area, but it's a bit too "coarse" for us.

thanks for all the info people, especially kdog. I'm getting the feeling as with all places there's good and bad, but Kingman sounds like it has a lot to offer as a small community goes. What area's would be recommended to definately avoid?
