Just as there are plenty of German, Italians etc. that don't speak in their native languages either.

In order to become an American citizen one must be able to read, write and speak English. One can only assume that those that don't meet those requirements are here illegally? Why should those of us who were for generations both born and raised here along with those who have immigrated here LEGALLY. Have to feel as if we were living in some third world hell hole as millions of people cross our border illegally, that have no desire to speak English, turning the United States of America into a bilingual nation?
Smh!

I know what you mean....I wish ex New Yorkers would lose that damn accent, so I could understand them....after all they are not in New York any more.

Douglas is a nice community. Plus Agua Preita is right there and save compared to other border towns.

Lots of anchor babies. Meaning the mother came over to the US and had a baby here and brought their child back to Mexico. At some point that child became an adult and is a US citizen and moved to the USA. Just a much a citizen as you are. And does not understand a word of English. And believe me for people in Mexico have a anchor baby is a big thing. With them they can sponsor relatives to move here legally.

I have an ex who is Hispanic. We visited her extended family in OKC a few years back. Her step daughter was born in Mexico and came here at an early age. Speaks perfect English. Her husband was an anchor baby and came here to live a few years ago. Speaks little English.
