If the AZ Highway patrol would give drivers tickets in az, we could satisfy the state debt. Why do I never see a highway patrol? I am on the roads every day, all day for work. It amazes me how many idiot drivers are in this state. When you try and pull out of a parking spot, you may have to wait 5 minutes until someone with manners lets you out...

Mostly it is bad drivers from OTHER states all mixing together. That is why we have so many wrong way drivers...they are used to getting on the freeway direction to their left by getting on the freeway via a right side onramp (I am looking at you California). At least I hope that is what it is and people aren't that stupid to NOT notice all the wrong way signs or that the reflectors at night are all red instead of white.

I agree that too many people don't use turn signals or will almost hit you trying to get out of a parking spot. That is usually just rude or inattentive drivers.

A few years ago there was a huge focus on State Troopers cracking down on speeders as well as photo radar enforcement, etc. It seems to have become quite lax lately...or it could be a lack of personnel. Not many people want to be a LEO these days.

Other than an occasional old person (who might be relying on experience in other places), the vast majority of these are reported as "impairment was a factor". As for signals, if you use 'em other drivers will try to stop you from making the lane change. It is best to just cut your way (you risk a bullet doing that, though). Things are bad here.

Not if you signal as you're making your move. Nothing worse than someone sitting in their lane with their blinker on waiting for a written invitation. Not gonna happen.

DPS is around but not as prevalent as in other states. Fine by me. Keeping people safe is not the primary objective of highway patrols but revenue generation as you will see in states like IL, MI and PA.

That is definitely a factor...just thinking drinking combined with "what I am used to doing" leads to this stupidity.

As far as blinkers...I always use mine but I drive a vehicle that can accelerate a bit better than most out there so the short 3 blink signal and move. Usually they don't have time to try and block me out...or if there is room behind an obvious aggressive driver I'll just slow down and get behind them. Not a big deal unless they are a slow mover.

It's not a problem of where you are from but how you were raised. I am a Calif transplant, but I was taught manners, honor, and courtesy towards others. You can have parents where ever they live not teach their kids basic manners. Not all are drunks, in fact, most are sober, they just lack any manners and are self-indulged because they think only about where they need to be and could care less about other drivers.

Agree. Flash and go is the best strategy. It doesn't give the other driver time to close the gap on you and the signal probably keeps you from taking on lead.
