Certainly not the most pressing issue the state is facing.

Personally I'd rather have the sun rising later in the summer. One of our dogs wakes me up for a walk at the first hint of sunrise, which is before 5am in the summer. I have no need to get up so early, and would rather be able to sleep a bit later. When the sun sets in the summer makes little difference to me, as it's too hot to enjoy being outside unless we are in the pool.

Leave Arizona as it is. Don't try to change anything about it. The little changes turn into big changes and then you don't recognize the place you originally moved to.
Arizona has changed a lot in the nearly 30 years I've lived here and it will continue to change as it grows. Expecting it to stay the same is a fantasy.

Things change. Everywhere. All the time.

Time is just a number. I don't care what time you observe, just stick to it. It is inconvenient to change the time by one hour twice a year. Don't know which idiot made this law.

I remember hearing an interview with a guy who wrote a book called Spring Forward: (I think) and he kind of joked that the industry that benefitted most was the BBQ industry.

Let me put it this way...if a guy can adjust to a late night out on the town, can he not adjust to a one hour change in the clock twice a year.

That is funny! I have been annoyed by DST in the past, but typically only on the day it happens. Shown up to work an hour early, etc.... Now with so many of us relying on smart devices that update themselves, I am personally ambivalent.

That said, simply shifting an hour of darkness/light one direction or another twice a year does not seem to be a good enough reason for the small hassle. I have yet to hear a very good, convincing reason to observe the DST changes twice a year.

I'm good with AZ not observing it. Yet another plus to living here.

I stated my opinion. You and others stated your opinion. But, yes, what you want is irrelevant. What I want is irrelevant. It is what it is.

When the US moves to permanent summer time as standard time than AZ would have to choose between going with Pacific time or Mountain time. Another idea I thought of is having the mountains and anywhere east of Phoenix metro area on permanent Mountain daylight time but anywhere west on Pacific time.

Considering we are permanent MST, if they all switch to DST then it would only make sense that AZ move to MDT. All of the states north of us would be on MDT, it would make no sense to put us on PDT.
