It's going to be on a Tuesday in February. I will get the specific date.
They will have 10,000+ parcels to purchase tax liens on. I was able to get a 150,000 SF (3.5 acres) for about 2100 including legal costs in 2003. I'm sure the process is similar in Maricopa County, but my experience is in SC County. I will answer questions on the process if anyone has them, and I will post a link to the PDF list of parcels, when it becomes available from the Treasurers Office.

You pay their delinquent taxes and they will have to pay you back +16% simple interest (APY). After three years you can sue for quiet title. At that point they owe you legal fees too.
My legal fees were 1500, (flat fee--includes publication services, and filing fees). You will get an insurable, sellable title (treasurer's deed). Did you know tha the screenplay of Oklahoma was filmed in SC County?

The latest is that the sale will be on 11 February 2010 at the SC County Courthouse. I will have information on the availability of the list (electronic), shortly.
