The Tres Alamos Wilderness 25 miles NW of Wickenburg was a great hike for me. It was a transition zone between the Sonoran and Mojave. It was great to see Joshua Trees right next to Saguaros. Beautiful country around there.

Default Find Joshua trees in Joshua Hills

a person can find wall-to-wall joshua trees in the northeast side of pierce ferry in Dolan springs, technically lake mohave ranchos,a quiet area is 19th to ocitillo ,rt. to 17...after a left on 17th,and a rt again on any street towards the backside of the mountain(the other side faces town of dolan...under the cliffs is call Antelope Canyon, plenty of photo ops as the housing in this valley is not so junk-yardish...this is also called Joshua Hills...part of it is undisturbed,as it is B.L.M. land-I've looked at that cliff in the morning for 7 years, never fails to inspire me...signed Rattlegun

Yes, the Joshua Tree Forest is 6 miles off the highway at Dolan Springs. You can't see it from the highway. The county road goes right through the center of it. I have photos but too lazy to scan them.

I do recall seeing some Joshua trees along I8, about 30 miles outside of Gila Bend. Odd place for them, but they are there.

Some nurseries carry them. Expect to pay several hundred dollars for one.
