pretty much shuts down, but there are still things to do and it isn't nearly as hecktic as the summer. It is actually a great time to visit, but no, there is nothing like Oak Lawn to keep things jumping.

I generally go in the first week of January every year and stay in a B&B for our aniversary. I love it that time of the year. There are a few of the very nice restaurants open. About 1/2 the stores are open but then again we are walkers/hikers and that is what we do there besides going out for a nice dinner in the evening. Always found nice places to eat and shop even january 3rd.
