My wife and I are thinking of accepting a job transfer to Magnolia, Arkansas, and was wondering if anyone would be willing to shed some light on the area, pros & cons, etc of moving to there (am currently living in Gainesville, Fla).

I am in the engineering field--if the job were to disappear in 1-2 yrs how hard would it be to find another?!?

I am a tad bit nervous/excited...just wondering what expert opinions were. I have awhile to accept it, so please be detailed about the area if possible.

Thanks

Southern Arkansas University is a tremendous asset to Magnolia. Major campus inprovements and additions will stand SAU in good stead for the future.
Our economy is more diversified than many similar cities in Arkansas. We are not immune to national trends, both good and bad, but they are always more moderate here.

You're not going to stumble across many professional-level jobs in Magnolia, except at the university.

Default Jobs in Magnolia AR

Major corporations in and around are Albemarle (3 Plants with frequent engineering openings (Albemarle Corporation Home) SAPA (Formerly Alcoa- slow now due to new home construction decline, Southern Arkansas University, Deltic Timber and Southern Alumnium (Southern Aluminum | Folding Tables, Banquet Tables, Banquet Table, Lightweight Folding tables).
Most folks from other parts of the country are pleasantly surpised at housing cost.
Glad to answer questions!
