I took a trip down to Harrison yesterday and really liked it a lot. We have been talking over the idea of relocating to Arkansas and it would be great to be within spittin' distance of Harrison.

Thinking....inexpensive land....(if that is even possible in this day and age), does anyone have any ideas or suggestions where to look? I'd like to stay within 20 miles +/- Harrison, but to be perfectly honest, I haven't had the best experiences in Lead Hill. LOL

Your best bet would be to get out of this black hole of a state.

This person obviously hates Arkansas. I'm from the Harrison-ish area (Cotter/Mountain Home). I don't hate it, but a few things:

If you are looking for a job, they are pretty scarce in that area right now.

Inexpensive land should not be hard to find...I would just call a real estate agent and they could probably point you in the right direction.

Maybe around Bruno or Jasper would be a little cheaper. However, if you have any kind of medical situation, Harrison's hospital has not been the best in the past. They just did a renovation though, so it may be better now.

Harrison is a gold mine. Hard work, American Ethics and a muster seed of faith in the creater, this area is certainly the place to live out a life. If you are not within the blessing of God, you will not be happy here are anywhere else. Welcome

Beautiful sentiments there

The OP is a bit outdated, but to anyone considering the Harrison area, the best thing to do is drive around and take a look. There are lots of good real estate agents, but many places are For Sale By Owner. We bought our place FSBO, found it while we were out driving around (while living here renting), and there were no listings that were what we really wanted, and anything that came close wasn't cheap enough. Miraculously we found it all, at a price we could afford.

I'd say that for approximately every 3 real estate agent signs I see on properties, I see one FSBO sign. The place we bought wasn't advertised anywhere at all... just a sign out front.
