They are half breeds. Half Filipino half European.
Football is not so big in the Philippines so those half Filipinos half Europeans were the ones who created the team.

and Filipino is Nationality as well. They can claim their Filipino heritage through one of their parents who were born and native in the Philippines. The last additional member that join the Philippine Azkals that I know is Javier Patiño Lachica, He officially play with the rest of the Azkals when he finally got his Philippine Passport that he can legally join and be part of the team. Actually, Javier's mom was so emotional when Javier decided to join the Philippine team. Our nationality law allow those who have Filipino heritage to represent their heritage through one of their parents at least by obtaining a Nationality based from blood or native from the Philippine Island. They cannot join the national team unless they don't have Philippine Passport or Filipino Nationality. Javier is a good striker he help the azkals win in Turkmenistan 1-0 and also scored last march 2013 against Cambodia as he scored 4 or 6 from 8-0 to help the Philippine team join in the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup. He joined the Azkals late 2012 and March 2013 was his first game with the rest of the team.
