When I went to Acapulco a few years ago, the Mexican front desk clerk had a lot of Filipino facial features. After all, this is the other end of the New World trade route that I learned about the previous day at the fort museum. I encouraged the clerk to look into his family genealogy.

And Americans don't care about the Philippine or Liberia, as usual, Americans only care about themselves.
Singapore is a fascist country run by ethnic Chinese, not something to emulate if you embrace Enlightenment philosophy. Canada and Australia are the largest of Britain's "white Dominions". These were founded in response to the American revolution, Canada being an alternate America under British rule and Australia being a prisoner colony since the 13 colonies don't accept British prisoners anymore. Britain and those two are still underwhelming compared to the powerhouse of the United States.

The Americans did a lot in 50 years compared to the 500 years under Spanish rule. English became mainstream, while Spanish never achieved being widespread in the archipelago. Because of this, Filipinos tend to immigrate to the white Anglophone developed countries.

When Filipinos immigrate to America, L.A. (the most populous Filipino city outside of The Philippines) and the rest of the Western U.S. are the popular choices. Filipinas out west tend to pick up a "Valley Girl" American English accent when they assimilate.

Remember what adam smith said? The church and the crown
And the toxic combination of Calvinism and capitalism is eroding America. Calvin's TULIP has justified denying health care to millions of Americans because they are not part of the elect (of the saved)--or as Calvin introduced from French to English, the "élite".

The Episcopal Church has finally purged the Calvinist low-church out and has gradually rediscovered its Henerican Reformed catholic roots with the Anglican schism decimating the remaining Evangelical wing. A second Reformation needs to happen to destroy the Puritanical mindset in secular American culture and reorient it as a catholic (small-c) country that heals the sick, instead of raking in profits like the temple moneychangers.

The US was never Catholic. In fact, it has always hated Catholicism from the Irish settlers to the Hispanics. If you want the US to be Catholic, you gotta let the brown Latin Americans in without restriction.

White Americans are largely of Protestant Background

But bah, "white Americans are brown people's savior, noh"?

Yes. They massacred more Filipinos than the Spanish could have.

And the Spaniards did not rule the Philippines for 500 years. Just 80 years. For 200 years, it was actually under Mexico.

You can't even get your facts straight.

And Spanish was actually spoken by up to 60% of the population at one point in time. It is not true that the Spaniards did not intermingle with the natives. Spain did a lot for the Philippines when it was under Madrid. Spain built infrastructure, public schools (yes, the first public schools were not introduced by the Americans but by the Spanish). The Spanish even studied the native languages, wrote about its grammar and wrote dictionary. Filipinos can even travel to Spain unrestricted when it was a colony. Meanwhile, the US restricted the Filipinos that could go to the US when it occupied the Philippines.

When the US occupied the Philippines, the white Americans even expelled the Filipinos richer than them in social clubs simply because they were not white.

America, so benevolent...NOT

too bad the US did not get to change the name of the country. Its the only good idea Duerte had.

And I don't speak spanish. too many verb conjugations. la leyendra negra.

You worship the spanish too much. Lapu lapu would disapprove. Held the phillipines back. its a colonial white savior slave inferiority complex mentality.

Like adam smith said, the church and the crown.

Need to shed the hispanic ways and foreign bedoiun ways, and go back to ways of the rajahnate or tondo and cebu and institute secularism.

break the cycle

Indeed, the typical characteristics of the Eastern People " Moluccas and Flores/NTT " is that are generally is their have great voice and good at dancing and their faces are not typical of Indonesian , but more like a mixture of colonial blood Portuguese and Dutch although many there are still faces of Asian and Melanesian there

This is typical of Eastern Indonesian traditional clothing (Maluku / Flores NTT) which is untouched by the influence of the Dutch and Portuguese .

There's this old supernatural story confirmed in both Mexican and Philippine records of the "Teleportation" of Gil Perez from Manila to Mexico.
