Reproduction hasn't been in the top 100X motivating factors for me having sex. In fact, it is something I and a many of my peers have worked super hard to avoid despite the desire for lots of sex.
I agree with Timberline here and I will take it a step further. For me fear of getting a woman pregnant actually reduces my desire for lots of sex. If I was attracted to a woman and knew for absolute certain that she could not get pregnant, my engines would be revving at top speed!

I dunno maybe I am biologically defective but I have (and always had) zero desire to breed despite experiencing plenty of sexual arousal.
Wow, something is not right in Japan. There must be a number of Horny Japanese women running around? Nobody is getting anything and they don't seem all that worried about it. An entire country turning Asexual!

I don't know... there was a post a few days ago that someone posted (to this article: Aziz Ansari on the Flaws of Insta-Boner Marriage, and the) in it, it says 25% of men in Japan are sexless and 45% of women. I remember that because I thought, wow, something weird is going on in Japan.
This was the quote: "here’s a stat in there that 45 percent of women and 25 percent of men say they despise sexual contact. Despise! That’s a crazy aggressive word to use for your feelings about sexual contact. The government is spending money to get people to date."

It means those 45% of women don't want anything to do with those 25% of men.

The million dollar questions are:
What has caused the young Japanese to despise sexual contact?

Wow! That is unreal. Probably not representative of sex in Japan but I have seen Japanese porn an it is appalling. Like a screeching cat being dragged behind a car.

and
Will it spread to other cultures?
Maybe they watched Japanese porn when they were young and now are afraid of it?
