Good grief. Over the years we have had policy differences with Israel. That's not anti Semitism. From a historical perspective the US has been probably the world's biggest supporter of Israel ever since independence.

It's hardly a minion.

Singapore is an economic engine. It's mutually beneficial for Singapore to have military backing, so that all of its citizens live well, without fear of being invaded.

Singapore gets far more out of the deal, to live in such an economically prosperous country.

I'm not sure what the U.S. gets out of it exactly...a secure place to invest money, I guess? Which is an even larger plus for Singapore.

ROC Taiping Island is getting an advanced USA radar this year to monitor traffic (one Chna Policy)

China should be kicked out of the U.N. they're a rogue nation that doesn't truly want to work with anyone and doesn't respect international law.
Oh yeah, the Chinese don't respect a tribunal that isn't even associated with the UN or the real World Court, and you want to kick China out of the UN? Dream on. By the way, the actual World Court that is part of the UN did rule against the US back in 1986, and guess what the US did? Go do some research. It ruled against Japan over whaling, and what do you think Japan did? It ruled against Britain over the Falklands, and guess what Britain did? Go learn something.

The Chinese won't accept this puny judgement, so?// what do you think anyone can do about it? China is doing what the US , or Britain or even Japan had done in the past. You're full of uninformed hot air, buddy.

The nine dash live was revised from the 11 dash line that the RoC on Taiwan came up with soon after WWII and was accepted by all the nations around that area and the US. Go learn something. It wasn't made up by the PRC.

The whole colonial thing is stupid? Says you...who are you?

Taiping may very well be the little seizure that the PRC will exact as a warning for Taiwan if that Tsai woman does anything stupid. So a nice radar would be a good gift for the PLA so make sure you folks install it well and make it nice. 😎😎😎😎🤗🤗🤗

This island is to provide medical care to personnel stationed on the island as well as fishermen from different countries operating in neighboring waters. In case of emergency or severe illness, the hospital will have a vessel transport patients to Taiwan for treatment. It also provides emergency medical care and rescue services to passing vessels and crews. Over the past decade, it has offered humanitarian assistance to 21 people in 20 cases, including Philippine and Myanmar nationals, fully demonstrating its dedication to humanitarianism.

The ROC’s aims in renovating this lighthouse, which goes into use today, are also peaceful. The South China Sea is a crucial thoroughfare for ships passing between Asia, Europe, and Africa, but replete with shoals and submerged rocks. The lighthouse on Taiping Island will help the ROC fulfill its international responsibilities by allowing the safe passage of ships through the surrounding waters, preventing shipwrecks, loss of life, and marine pollution, and contributing to the safe seaborne transport of goods and the provision of humanitarian aid.

As for ticking off the us, are you kidding me. The most the us will do is sail some lone ship close to a Chinese island, well outside of its 12 miles zone. But the Chinese will militarize those islands and keep beefing up their defenses. It's China's backyard and it might be high time the us recognizes that. Whose stealing islands? Those belong to China. Who died and made you sheriff? Back in the 1950s when the roc claimed all of the scs under its 11 dash line, the us had no problem with it. In all fairness the US did liberate the Phillipines from the Japanese even though it was known they were going to be granted independence immediately thereafter. Japan would have invaded the Phillip ones regardless of whose territory it was due to their strategic position between Japan and the Dutch East Indies, whose oil was the objective being Japan's entire expansion of the Pacific sat in late 1941.
And the US military forces defending south Korea from attack by North Korea benefits the Philipines as well. No nation in that region benefits from an unchecked North Korea, a regional security role that China is unable or unwilling to fill at the moment.

Now, did the Phillipines get a raw deal in the Phillipine-American War? Absolutely!

Oh, stop it. The mighty PRC isn't gonna do anything, as much as you'd like it to.
