Last night, on abc news, there was a story about india, in which it is a yearly custom to throw babies from the rooftop into a sheet, for good luck....imaging how frightening that most be for those babies.......
What do you think should be done to help the indian government stop this practice? If you go to yahoo, you can see the video right now!!
What about being Circumcision? That is a custom for many male babies. I may not remember it, but I'm sure I was a bit teed-off, at the doctor and my parents for that.

Good point.
Secondly, is it our place to interfere with other cultures practices?
Uhmm....
Ever seen fathers throw their little ones up in the air and then catch them again ???
You have problems with that ????
That is a moment of Joy! These toodlers are being thrown down from 2-3 stories!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These toodlers were screaming at the top of their lungs, and a bunch of men were holding this sheet and catching them!!!!! That is scary enough....................
Well, obviously it is not killing too many of them. Or else it would not be considered lucky
Also, there are still enough surviving to catch the latest batch of 'flying babies'.
If it were inhumane then I am sure that they would have sense enough to stop the practice.
And, in all the cartoons, that is how they caught people from burning buildings.
Here is the video. I am sorry I went there because there is a video of throwing a puppy off a cliff if you look right at the other videos. I did not dare play that one!
You know, while I personally wouldn't throw my toddler off a second storey, India is a world apart. Life is much cheaper there than it is in the US and it's not uncommon for people to die on the street while others step over them. While it might be disturbing to us, in the great scheme of things this is not one of India's biggest issues.
