PCIncorrect:I had the same thought while I was posting! This thread should likely be moved.

I think Corona's commercials are entertaining, but it's lousy beer IMO. My favorite at the moment is Shiner Black Lager. I don't know how widely available it is, but it's lovely.

MC: Just remember that what is "good" is a matter of opinion! Even those with highly refined palates (of which I am not) disagree!

Several of my friends absolutely love the Islay single malts, and some of the blends that include them. There's a whole bunch of Islay and similar Scotches, for sure.

jblake mentioned Negra Modelo. I like it with food, but not by itself.

Most assuredly the God of Whiskey has to be Irish. Now I love my Smithwick, a good Irish ale and I love a good Irish whiskey and I'm partial to a Mr. John Jamieson, however lately I have also taken a liking to a certain Michael Collins single malt from the Cooley distillery.....

OOPS, my bad, the Nigerian beer was named "Champion" because it won quite a few German Beer tasting festivals. It was really good stuff, it only came in a green quart bottle, so 2 six packs a night was a whole lot of beer. (it didn't really come in six packs) I used to keep two or three in my cooler on the truck, our camp had a large generator, keeping an ice maker running was not a problem.

Fyi;

in ancient greek mythology, ambrosia (greek: ἀμβροσία) is sometimes the food, sometimes the drink, of the greek gods (or demigods), often depicted as conferring ageless immortality upon whoever consumes it. It was brought to the gods in olympus by doves, so it may have been thought of in the homeric tradition as a kind of divine exhalation of the earth.
