...people who identified as liberal and atheist had higher IQs. This applied also to sexual exclusivity in men, but not in women. The findings will be published in the March 2010 issue of Social Psychology Quarterly.

Just so you super-smart atheist/liberals know the psychologist who did this "study" also once said that Africa's woes were due to its population's low i.q.s

Low IQs are Africa's curse, says lecturer | UK news | The Observer

Your point? It's been proven that people who get access to more resources have an increased IQ (ie. children in poor families who were put in homes with upper class families saw an IQ increase). Last time I checked, Africa wasn't too developed.

From the link:

Collins added: 'The notion that people in poor countries have inferior intelligence has been disproved by much research in the past. This is another example, which other academics will shoot down.'
Seems like your notion is controversial.

I worked in Nigeria for a while, and one of the brightest human beings I have ever met was one of my laborers, he spoke over 25 languages and was about 20 years old. The languages included English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish and a whole bunch of various tribal languages. He could not read nor write but had a top notch analytical mind.

If he couldn't read or write, he wouldn't do well on an IQ test. I think it all depends on how one defines IQ. I've known some uneducated people who were extremely quick-witted. Is it how innately smart one is or how much he knows?

This study is bogus any anyone with half a brain can see right through the transparent assumptions being made.

The IQ tests I was administered as a child revolved around problem solving, like detecting patterns in a string of numbers and predicting the next number, that sort of thing. There were absolutely no general knowledge questions. However as I said, this was when I was a child. Perhaps adult tests are different? Personally I think they do well at measuring what they are designed to measure (a particular sort of learning ability) but it does us all a great injustice to act as though they accurately measure "intelligence" which comes in many forms.
