It looks like the British film on Darwin’s Life; which for months could not find a US distributor for the movie due to religious conflict, has now found a group (Newmarket Films) who will give Americans an opportunity to see the historical work. Newmarket films issued this statement after buying the rights. “We at Newmarket pride ourselves in getting behind important films that help open the door for discussion and conversation, as is the case with Creation. While Darwin’s name has come to symbolize one side of a debate between the scientific and the theological, Creation personifies the debate, with both sides contending, sometimes violently, within the man. In that sense, we believe that the film will appeal both to people of faith and people of science."
Thanks for this timely information, nezlie! I wonder (not really...) how the greater Christian community will deal with this... I'll go on record here as saying I'll anticipate protest rallies, the pitchfork and torch crowd down at your local theater, hoping to stop it's screening, as though information, even controversial information, should ALWAYS be suppressed.
If such protesters surface in your community, just quietly ask them what they are afraid of. Do they think that viewing such a film might "sway" a believer out of their stupor?
Then, be prepared for an onslaught of "critical reviews" from such intellectual luminaries as Pat Robertson or Kent Hovind.

It looks like they selected their opening sites in cities where maybe that will be held to a minimum. It will definitely be interesting to see the reaction of those that fear that this may popularize Darwin. Maybe the opponents should be thinking about funding their own creationist/id flick...... starring Johnny Depp maybe?
When you consider the large number of documentaries on television regarding Darwin, evolution, and the conflict between religion and science I find it somewhat surprising that a movie should be considered to be so significant when you can watch any number of educational channels on tv about the same topics. Maybe it's the fact that movies are promoted, reviewed and discussed much more than a television program that it tends to get some of the diehard creationists a little more rattled, I don't really know. Anyway, it sounds like something I'd like to see.
So there will be a lot of tears and 'snivel' sobbings, like in Passion of the Christ??
Get some kleenex before hitting the theatre, fellas
I think this group will just need their glasses, a pocket protector, several pens, and a note pad to take note on the interesting parts. We just aren’t the emotional types.

No need to worry about Kent Hovind. That stooge and intellectual fraud is also a real life fraud. He is currently serving 10 yrs in prison for tax evasion. Apparently his good friend Jesus decided not to help him out.
But I guess Kent would probably just say that he is being tested just as Jehova tested the biblical Jobe.
Here's to hoping for further tests!

Reason: typo
The film is excellent and focuses on his relationship with Annie his eldest daughter , let me all know what you think. I thought the acting was utterly superb and it was beautifully filmed.
