We should just enhance and embrace and improve upon the unique, natural (and beautiful) features we already have.
Yes! I agree with this.. Atlanta has what others dont. We need to highlight what the city has

I think the Beltline will become the defining feature of Atlanta, even if it's manmade

Great thread. I would love a water feature. Where? Why not a current flood zone?

Hey, is there not a natural spring underneath the city hall on ponce that just got sold? If there is, that would be a nice feature to bring back.
ALso, don't forget about the rock quarry that's going to hold water on the beltline.

I know a little about hydrology, and while the quarry might add a little bit, certainly you are aware ( cough cough) that Atlanta is scheduled to run out of water in a year or two? (cough cough). You can't just build a huge reservoir wherever you like... the reason why you can't do that is because that hugely affects everyone downstream... The Federal Government is already a pain just for minuscule developments around the city... major water features takes a MINIMUM 5 years to get a state, probably 10 for federal...We're all on the brink (cough cough)

I have a hard time seeing it as a defining feature. It misses the heart of what we think of as Atlanta. It seems that it is being built in the hopes of spurring development along its path. They want to put in lightrail to service hoped for riders and a pedestrian/bike route that goes no where.
