Why do you post news headlines here that have nothing to do with moving here or the quality of life or local issues?

So where's the sad part? Maybe if the put down a couple of these thugs, it'd keep others from thinking it's OK to do something like this in the future. Beats using taxpayer dollars to keep them in jail for decades...

Well, the sad part is that 18 years old is practically a child, and hardly a responsible adult. I do think that it's a stiff penalty for individuals who aren't even old enough to drink. It's no major injustice, but it is unfortunate.

He'll probably be in jail for decades, either way. Some say the death penalty is more expensive than a life in prison. I think that's a questionable claim, but either way, I don't think we taxpayers are going to see any savings.

Well then, I really hope you've taught your 19 year old the difference between right and wrong. Hopefully he or she will never be in that kind of situation.
