yeah, look up at the skyscrapers, i do all the time. seriously, it's fine. it's not dangerous. you'll have homeless people asking for money, but hey, if you have it to spare maybe you should help them?

You should be fine in Downtown Atlanta. Persistent panhandling is one of the largest annoyances in Downtown, just be polite to them if they approach you asking for $$ and they will move on to someone else.

Crossing the road on the way to the hotel is actually what's not safe. It's a good idea to wait until the cars come to a complete stop before crossing an intersection, NOT when the "walk" sign turns. 90% of drivers will block the crosswalk. 50% of crosswalk lights don't work.

Ask Margaret Mitchell's (gone with wind author's) ghost.
