Antico would be a GREAT experience for the kids. Look up the website. Make all the pizza in front of the patrons in wood fired ovens. Really cool experience. BYOB for the parents.

If you guys like BBQ, hit Fox Bros.

We hit La Fonda up a lot with the kids. (Mexican / Cuban)

For Pizza, there is a Mellow Mushroom in Dunwoody that will be close.

Perimeter area is all chains. Going to have a couple miles in any direction to find 'local' food.
Fox Bros BBQ is quite good, though I'm also partial to Daddy D'z in the city and Williamson Bros out in Marietta.

A friend of mine and I are gonna do a head-to-head comparison of Fox Bros and Daddy D's soon. I usually get pulled pork, and IMO Daddy D'z trounces Fox Bros on that count, but the sliced brisket at Fox Bros was just about the best I've had. I need to see how Daddy D'z compares on that front.

I can't really comment on Daddy D'z because I haven't been there in at least 7 years. But I don't think I liked that style of BBQ as much (not being a connoisseur I can't say what it was or why). Besides Fox Bros, though, I also love and recommend Community Q.

My kids love to go to Front Page News in Little Five Points. We love George's in Virginia Highlands, best burgers in Atlanta, hands down. Tin Lizzy's is another favorite for pseudo-Mexican, but their queso is divine; we go to the one in Grant Park, but they have other locations in town.
