I know very little about the burbs here. We are interested to know if there are very large walkable developments with sidewalk, pools, tennis courts in the area? Open to any suburbs really. From what I can tell, there seems to be alot of these two/three street culdesacs developments in the burbs and that's about it, and that's fine as long as we can walk the dog and kids can ride bikes around with having the loop the same streets 5 times.

We are just starting to explore/look around so any suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks.

If all you're finding is 2-3 street culdesacs, you're not looking very hard. We live in a 1,200 unit subdivision in Cherokee County- Harmony on the Lakes- that has sidewalks on both sides of every street, two lakes, 8 tennis courts, and 4 pools. It's 2 miles from one end to the other and has miles of walking trails in addition to the sidewalks, so I don't think you'd have to worry about having to loop the same street repeatedly.

There's also Bridgemill, also in Cherokee County, that makes our place look tiny- I believe they have close to 4,000 houses. There are literally dozens of subdivisions up this way that are more than large enough to suit your requirements.

Thanks for the feedback so far. The development in Cherokee County, Harmony seems like what we're looking for. Are there others like it a bit closer in to Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Milton, Suwanee, etc?

Default Summergrove

Lovely community. We had talked about PeachTree City since that puts us closer to airport.

Oh god yes.

"Swim tennis" communities are they are often called are in no short supply.
Go to a supermarket and in the front there should be a magazine rack with magazines that showcase such developments
